Hello, i m back. Sorry for the long absence. Been really busy.

There's a lot to talk about.

They are talking about deficit despite the increment in the maintenance fee. Let's see how our money is being spent.

Spending about a $1500 to spruce up the guardhouse work station. I believe it refers to the work desktop in the guardhouse. Get the basics right first. What is the point of spending so much to make a place look nice when you can't even make it cool enough for the guards working in there?  While the single wall fan cannot keep the guardhouse cool enough, the guards now have the extra responsiility to cleani it monthly. That's a double punishment.

More than that. Besides the $3000, there is another $642 to the legal firm for search and investigation. As someone said before me, council alone should not take the case to court. Let this be decided by the AGM.

$3150 for the small area of rubber mats in the gym. Is this made of gold?  What is going on?

So many signages all over the place. How much money is spent on them? They are a sheer waste of money and they are turning the condo into a jungle of signages.

Lastly, agree, demolishing the pavilion is a big mistake. And the council has not been transparent about the response from BCA .

At the way things are going, we SP's will have to pay-and-pay without end while the condo wil be demolished until nothing is left.

<deleted comment>

Mr. Ng, for the sake of the MCST, can you get involved, like attending Council Meeting as an observer?

toomuchlah,

sorry, I have to delete some of you comments which are too personal. The motto of this forum is: Deal with the issue, not the person.

Any SP, including you, can sit-in as an observer in the Council Meeting.

Sometimes a person can be the issue.

True, Any SP can sit-in as obsever but you are more experienced in council work than most of us. Be our observer lah.

Comments on the latest Minutes of Council Meeting.

After spending $6000 to deal with roof top pumps hammering noise at Blk 92 Lobby 5, the problem is not solved. Now, it is due to something else. This means further expenditure.
When the MCST made a submission to the Strata Title Board (STB), it paid $500 upfront. The purpose is to obtain an Order from the STB, ordering the other party to carry out the necessary repair. Why did the MCST has to pay a further $3000 to a law firm?
Further thousand to be spent on the gym.

If that's the way our money is spent money,  no amount of maintenance contribution will be sufficient.

In the case of Blk 90 #01-07, the respondent had done some repairs and noticed the drip rate of the leak was unchanged. Can we be sure about the source of the leak? Consider the case of Blk 88 #01-12. The owner carried out the repair according to an Order. It was only OK for a while. Now the leak has re-appeared. Tread carefully. If an SP is wrongly accused, he/she can counter-claim against the MCST.

Capacitor bank for the heating system of the changing rooms?. Probably to correct the power factor. This is being dumb. Electricity flowing through resistance generates heat. The heater is a resistive load, i.e., AC voltage and current should be in-phase.  Basic knowledge of electricity.

Yah man, councilors should have some basic knowledge. Otherwise the MCST will end up paying more for unnecessary repair or replacement.

Me think d councilors hv no cow sense. Why use a cone as a barrier ? They should hv bought a barrier with a longer arm when they replaced d old one.

6 children played ball and damaged drain cover. 1 was idenified and the parent made to pay. The rest are being hunted down. This is no good for community spirit. The damage was only an accidental, not intentional.

What about the council demolishing thd pavilion without permission? Are the councilors going to pay for it?

Mr. Ng, I notice you have attended the last Council Meeting as a observer. thanks. Be careful though. They may agitate you and then secretly take photos of you. I heard someone has been going around showing bad photos of you taken from previous council meetings.

I am so glad that we have such a forum. It allows ordinary SPs to voice our opinions directly.

These councilors are working for their own interest. They are treating common properties as if these were their own private properties,

Because one councilor is a tennis player all the courts must be in tip-top condition. After one drain cover was damaged, they are going after some children to make their parents pay. Have the tennis players themselves not been causing damage to the court? If you don't want the children to play in the tennis court, then lock it up.

One councilor finds the store to be an eyesore, it was demolished.

One councilor at the low floor of Blk 92 facing the pavilion finds it to be an eyesore. It was demolished.

One groundfloor councilor doesn't like the plants in front of her unit. They are now replaced with a different type.

Why do they paste notices and issue warnings all over the place? This is as bad as littering and it makes the condo look so ugly. For goodness sake, use the notice boards.

Councilors, have some good sense. Do not paste notices on the walls of lift
lobbies. They make our condo look ugly.

I notice that while councilors never give up on hunting down some kids for
damaging a drain cover in the tennis court, they have decided to give up on the
computer company which failed to recover the data from the management office
computer. What is this? The council only knows how to bully kids? The MCST has
paid for the data recovery service. Either the council makes the company
complete the job or pay the MCST back. The council is doing neither. This shows
the incompetence of the council. In the first place, before it replaces the
computer, it should have worked out how to recover the data first.

What about the case for calling back the repainting company to paint the back
wall and peg up the holes at the rooftop? Is the council giving up on these too?
